How does it work?

This is a token swap party,  so each guest is allocated a token for each item they bring along. You get more tokens depending on the outfit brand and quality (up to 3 per item).

Each item you take from the rails has a corresponding value of tokens. More tokens can be purchased (£5 per token) if you need them.

We do not charge money for any of the clothes swaped, anything you take off the rails and exchange for tokens is yours to keep.

All the expert style sessions and talks by the fashion gurus are free to attend on the day.

*** PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS EVENT IS HOSTED IN A GROUP SETTING

FAQs

What can/can't I bring to the event?

Please feel free to bring your unworn unwanted clothes, bags and accessories which are in nearly / new condition (on hangers)! However, we don't accept shoes, underwear, earrings, swimwear, lingerie/ nightwear, hosiery, Bridal gowns, Bridesmaids gowns and leggings.

Please note this is not a charity donation and your clothes should be nearly new. This event is a swap for clothes you have bought but not worn.

Do we accept Ankara outfits?

Yes, if you have an unworn Ankara outfit, please bring it/them along.

How many items do I need to bring?

You must bring at least ONE item but a maximum of  15 items. You can come without items but will need to buy tokens on the night to get clothes from the rails.

What condition must the clothes be in?

They must be NEW or Nearly new / good condition. Items must be in a good condition, something that has shrunk, is stained or needs repairing (e.g. missing buttons, broken zips, loose sequins or beading, rips, tears, fabric pulls or holes, bobbly bits, disintegrating seams or hems, lint or fluff) will not be accepted. We have the right to refuse to accept items, if they are not in nearly new condition.

If I don't have any clothes to bring along to the event, can I still come and take clothes home?

Absolutely! Tokens are available for purchase on the day. Everyone with a token will be allowed to browse the rails first and those without tokens are allowed to browse thereafter for anything left.

What happens to the clothes I donated AFTER the event which are not ?

Where the clothes are not moved to the next event, your clothes will be donated to Cancer Research UK for sale to raise funds for Cancer research.

Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?

Please email valerie@ebonystreetmarket.com for any questions.

What is the refund policy?

We are unable to give refunds, but you can offer your ticket to a friend!

The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?

Sure, that's fine!

We may be filming, recording and photographing during the event. By attending this event you are giving your express permission to be filmed, recorded taped and are therefore giving away any broadcast rights or royalties.
